Driver Profile - Devan Matkovich
18 year old Devan Matkovich of Hamilton Ontario developed a passion for Motorsports at a very young age. His racing career began in 2000 at Cameron Motorsports racing complex racing 4-cycle karts. Within the first few races Devan was at the front of the pack and on his way to winning top honors and challenging for the series championship.
Devan went on to compete in the125cc Senior Rotax Max class, racing in the highly competitive Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship in 2003, 2004 and 2005 as well as OKRA Grand Nationals at Shannonville and Mosport in 2004 and 2005. He placed well in all of these championships, with a number of top 5 finishes as well as a win at North Americas most prestigious kart race, the Barrie Grand Prix in 2004. He has continued to improve his driving skills in various racing disciplines, most recently competing in the open wheel F1200 series in 2006.
Devan graduated in 2006 as an "A" student and as a post graduate is now studying automotive and race engineering. Devan continues to have strong aspirations to compete at the highest levels of international racing.
August 13th 2006 marked Devan's first career win and the BARC Canadian Touring Trophy in the ISSECO F1200 series, and garnered 5th place overall in his rookie year.
Continued hard work and dedication demonstrate Devan's commitment for racing excellence. Devan and TLM Racing are prepared to represent corporate sponsors in a professional manner both on and off the track for the 2007 F1200 racing season.
