Driver Profile - Dylan Gibson
2008 TLM team member Dylan Gibson is no stranger to speed or competition. Racing since 2001, 16-year-old Gibson comes to the TLM paddock with numerous racing achievements under his belt. In 2006, Dylan was ranked Jr. Rotax Co-Champion in Ontario with wins at Mosport and Hamilton. He was also awarded the GM Winners Circle Award for Sportsmanship. To round out 2006, he finished 3rd at Mosport Kart Club and 4th overall at the Canadian Nationals. In 2006, Gibson also completed a successful test day at the Mosport Driver Development Track in Formula 1200.
2007 was also a blockbuster year for Dylan as he moved up to the highly competitive Senior Rotax division. He earned a number of top 10 finishes in 4 Regional Races, qualifying 3rd at Canadian Nationals. Later in the year, Gibson qualified 5th among the best drivers in North America at the Super Nationals in Las Vegas. Additional successful test day at DDT in F1200 with TLM Racing, where he impressed the TLM team by posting the quickest time of the day among all that tested the F1200.
While not on the track, Gibson excels in both academics and sports. He is an honours student and is a key player in his high school football team. Additionally, Dylan is now participating in his 12th year of competitive hockey and is the Captain of his Burlington hockey squad.
